My Unicorn, eh?

Had to put the car back on the ground to get some room, but the engine is in the garage. Need to round up some bolts and it will be on the stand I grabbed before I left Rockford.

I have been in contact and working out details with Scott's father and long time friend Joel. About 10 days ago his house went on the market and the 4 speed car was the only car left in the garage. Joel made sure it stayed inside as long as possible because of the lack of glass.

Today I woke up at 530am and took off to Winnebago to deliver on my promise. I took Scott's favorite route, US20 West out of Rockford towards Dubuque then 218 northwest from 20 to I35. Then took 35 to 90 in Albert Lea, and headed west to Blue Earth/Winnebago.

Once in Winnebago I turned into the neighborhood and seen this 73 or 4 Charger. I figure it was Scott showing me the way.

Of Course, I didnt make the trip to my new shop to grab my impact/jack and Joel misunderstood my sloppy text this morning. So we had a bumper jack and an adjustable wrench at our disposal, not a tire iron anywhere... I managed to get the passenger front wheel changed easily, but we had to hope the other side held air. The rollers on that side are newer style steelies and I couldnt get the right angle to grip the lugs.

We got the drivers side aired up and the valve stem on the front was leaking. We took a cap off another tire and it stopped the leak (and held air all the way home!)

Rolled outside for the first time in well over a year.

I unhooked the trailer and Joel used his receiver mounted winch to pull the car onto it with ease.

All strapped down, I backed the Tow N Go up and hooked the trailer back up and got ready to head back to Illinois

After we burned one for our buddy, we said our goodbyes (for now) and I headed down to Blue Earth to grab some magnetic trailer lights to cover my *** as Mannys trailer is still a work in progress and we managed to screw up our other set moving cars around last weekend.

Then here is the rest from my haul home to Illinois.

Started Snowing pretty good as I got near the Mississippi and stayed that way through Wisconsin and down to the New Shop.

I will be getting his parts cars as well hopefully sooner vs later for all the glass and missing pieces. The car will be indoors out of the elements again within a day or two. When Scott set out a few years ago to retrieve this car, it got wet on that journey, so in proper Scotty B fashion, the haul to my place was very much the same, it didnt bother me since it didnt bother him.

The plan. Running. Driving stopping. Spruce up the interior, new carpet. Get glass put in it. New vinyl top. And a set of COOL mags. Then go row gears for my buddy.

Great news and start a build/project thread.
