66 Newport 383 4 bbl car not a HP machine by far. Looking to replace both since one of mine is bad.
Cant seem to find anything decent

I'm suspecting there is NO difference in the 383 2bbl and HP mounts. All the same until the change to the spool mount in about 1972 or so.

The lh mount is the one which resists engine torque, which is why it is the most common to fail.

To make the mount into a "fail safe" design, you can apply a strap between the two sides of the mount of drill a hole through the middle for a bolt and nut (with flat washers under each). Seems like the old Schumacher Services sold some polyurethane mounts to replace the rubber mounts?

I suspect the mounts are still around, just not in anybody local stock. Have you checked Rock Auto?

Enjoy!

RockAuto shows motor mounts made by DEA / MARMON, FVP, ANCHOR, WESTAR and PIONEER, all available, with prices ranging from $4 to $10 each.

1966 Chrysler Newport with 383.

I think someone mentioned that 440 Source is making nice poly mounts. Be better than Chinese, or India mounts.
