Bought a 66 newyorker in saskatoon, more or less sight unseen. Landed at airport was picked up by seller taken to a license office transferd title paid the dude and headed for regina, car was tuned up a little and then I drove it home over the Rocky mountains to Vancouver Island.now in the process of making it modern. Will be looking to forum members for advice as project proceeds.

Congrats! I'm a local BC guy as well....beautiful drive back from the flat lands through the rockies...bet it was a very enjoyable trip!

Welcome to the site from the Motor City!

No only have a couple of pics, I have trouble moving pics around online for some reason. Car is in good shape for age...but it needs stuff of course. The front seats need to be redone it needs a head liner and I figure if the seats are coming out might as well slide some new carpet into her. The engine is 150 on all 8 yet oils seems to be going somewhere..not smoking though. For now I am just making it more dependable for me to drive around. the brakes have been redone all the way around although I did not convert to disc's ....only because the kit was going to be several months in getting here. up graded the ignition system with all MD components bought and optima red top and an new MSD dynaforce mini starter today its going on on Thursday.. Just kind of chippin' away at it for the next few years I guess.

The trip home was kind of hairy....but I liked it although some moron pulled out in front of me about 10 miles south of here and I almost centre punched him....sadly my 71 Newport 4dr.ht. exited this life in a similar fashion in 1987.

Welcome Last6. Not sure what conversion you're doing on the stopperz but if it's basically front discs, We ALL be'z friendz with the guy who operates THE MOTHER OF ALL C-BODY BONE YARDZ IN TIFFIN OHIO by the name of Murray park. at: www.cbodys.com I'm pretty sure a '71 c-body setup will bolt rite up to your '66 but others here can better shed lite on that for the "slabside" yearz. Enjoy the best car site on the planet like we all do, Jer

Glad to have another brother from the north join in! My dad was born in Cranbrook BC.

Hey! Welcome to the site. That car must be in pretty good shape. Love it when I hear someone just jumps in and drives an old car that kind of distance.
