New to me 78 NYB on its way but please Don't tell my wife

Try to relax and recover... getting the kid to work on the projects was a brilliant move... post pictures and accounts of the progress...

Am I to understand (from Moseman’s post) that I have to drill out pop rivits to remove the window motor? If so....That’s just crazy!!

I have to disagree with mosey on this. I've never had to drill out any pop rivets to remove the motors. Lord knows I've done enough of them. In fact, I don't recall even seeing any in there. But I've been wrong before.

I hope you get well soon!

Couldn’t resist....

Went by the shop to drop off some parts. Here’s some pictures of the roadrunner in for reassembly.

Rust in the lower corners of the rear window now gone.

Also had some rust in the roof And door bottoms.

All gone.

First, get well. Second, I guess I hallucinated when I drilled out the pop rivets holding the regulator on both doors of my 78 coupe. See photos below which show the 1/4 inch bolts that replaced the three pop rivets. The FSM for 78 also mention that you had to do that to remove the regulator.

Sorry.... didn't do that with mine. Never even paid attention to them. Didn't have to.
Sure, maybe the regulator had been removed before. Oh well, I now have to fix the major oil leak on my 78. Sure is frustrating trying to get this one somewhat runable! Tried to take it to the painter, loaded it on the trailer and it dumped oil all over! Had to unload. Start over! I may add a Hughes Engines Whiplash cam while I have the engine out.

That's what I was thinking with those rivets.
Damn...that sucks!
Sorry to hear that. Bob @78NYB is your man for setting up your engine have you been following his thread?

Javier, would this be considered an Upgrade from our OE electronic distributor? Or an aftermarket equal replacement? If an upgrade! Where’d ya get it?
Nope! It is pretty much a stock electronic ignition. The orange module is an upgrade in that it is rated for higher rpm that a stock engine should never see. It is available separately from mopar.

Ouch!!!!!

In case you were all wondering what happened to me...

Had to have a hernia operated that was getting worse on Friday. Has me laid up for a few weeks as I heal.

Went in for it that morning as it was bothering me and was looking kind of scary and they scheduled me for the same day.

Surprise!!!!

They never told me how much it would actually hurt.

I came out of anesthesia and my first word was OUCH.... which I kept repeating ever louder until they gave me a Percocet.

Been on my back and mostly sleeping until today.

My youngest daughter has promised to be my hands on a few smaller projects later this week after seeing me mopey today at not being able to do anything.

Looking forward to that!
I hope that your daughter receives influences strong enough to start in this hobby. It is always good to get fresh blood around ``old`` cars.

What color stripe? :poke:
White.... non reflective.

Sorry for not getting on but started feeling better and working.

More tomorrow.
So you gonna make us ask? Or ya gonna give up some info.. oh I know! Your gonna spring it on us when it’s all finished right!! :poke:

Here it is as it was about 7 years ago and will soon be.
