ORIGINAL 1969 POLARA CHP RESURECTION

Hopefully I can save some for the future generation; but will they even care??

I sure do even if nobody else does. For example, I absolutely love the Sport Fury GT's, especially the 1970's. I love them because of the rarity, the options especially with the 6bbl engine, and especially after seeing Dave's and billyfury's cars. I honestly have dreams of owning one someday, that and a 1970 300 Hurst Chrysler. I'm so intrigued about them that I love learning about 'em. I'd also love to own some of the cars in your collection Trev too if I had the money.

I finally succeeded with the help of a pressure washer.....more to go....we should have a nearly original CHP paint uncovered after 45 years soon!!!!! You can see the "shadow" of the "HIGHWAY PATROL" decal on the deck lid. I'm really happy about the out come. It's hard to save original paint..... Enjoy!
Excellent thread and wonderful work!

bumpers are very nice! I will consider using the company you used for Elwood’s bumpers.

I’ve been so busy on customer cars, I haven’t had too much time lately.

I did order a complete interior & headliner from SMS. Once that is installed I’ll see what’s next.

I did score an original whip and spring recently. I bought an original NOS spring from Alan, but the patina on the original spring is more appropriate.

Drove over to SMS and picked up the NOS fleet vinyl and cloth inset material for #4477. The black is the cloth insert material and the grey is the vinyl.

Yes, I happily wore a mask, and got great service.

Door panels will be ready in 4 weeks.

When did you place the order for the door panels Trev? The materials you received look very nice.

My research on the “correct” 69 CHP seat pattern has led me to two options.

The above photo with the lower seat having, cloth then vinyl then a small cloth section befor terminating to the seat front/base.

Second is mentioned as “optional Full heavy duty vinyl” which I think the CHP used, but I’m not sure.

I’ve looked at Alan’s and Ron’s CHP Units, and in period photos from the day. Those cars have just a “single” vinyl section on the seat base and not 2 sections per the Dodge Dealer Data Book.

Question which is correct for CHP Pursuit Polaras???
