My old '73 newport didn't come with one. Used to puke some out here and there. Drove me nuts! Threw a small Summit bottle on.

My data book lists two radiator caps, open system and closed. Ever try finding the correct radiator cap for a 72 or 73 closed system? They are year specific.
 
My data book lists two radiator caps, open system and closed. Ever try finding the correct radiator cap for a 72 or 73 closed system? They are year specific.

Your FSM should specify the different rad caps for your car. A good parts guy will locate the correct one for you, (the dog bone type). A/C or tow package should use a 14 or 16# cap.
