Rust removal on my 66 Polara

And yes the welding is pretty gruesome looking:lol:
If the stuff you put in stays in and the wet and exhaust stays out and you dont split a weld on the first pothole... job well done...and the grinder will make her pretty if thats a concern.

I would like the pretty but the functional is most important.
I keep telling myself anything I do here is a vast improvement over what it was

The hole in the back is getting smaller...

I was going to just let this one go... but now... DONT DO IT.

I have been working hard on the car again this past week & weekend.
I have fabricated the replacement pieces for the rear wheel wells and added the side sills for the trunk.

Buttoned the metal work all up in the rear of the car and painted the underside now.
I plan to add some rocker undercoating to the wheel wells this week and do some cosmetic body fill in the trunk area .

I cleaned and prepped the inner rear quarters a few nights ago now.
Adding some before and after shots for comparison sake
Getting close to painting the trunk interior then onto the suspension!

As usual, I stand in total awe of you. . .

i was able to install the rear springs and Differential today and this evening.
I have to touch up some areas that I missed as evidenced in the one photo I just posted! :)
The car is finally back in the as if it has its' wheels on again stance!

And no wood blocks either!

Well I got the torque boxes/more like plates installed
I "have" never figured out why they were called boxes but that's not important...:)
They turned out pretty good for having to fabricate them from scratch

They look very good, just be sure that if any water can get in, that there is a drain to get it out.

Good point! I'll add a drain hole to each side if I think they need it which they probably will... :)
