Rust removal on my 66 Polara

it was paint the trunk and rear panel time tonight!

I hit it with some high build primer and once it dries apply some body filler to pretty it up.
Apply some sound deadener then spatter paint.

Wow...

Very nice... so what do you do with your spare time?

Ha!
Yard work...
Fixing my daily drivers
Working full time
Exercising

Otherwise just hanging around drinking a can of Coors Light

Oh and watching movies and Last Man Standing on my android box

I can hardly wait to get driving this car:steering:
I missed all last year:(

The fact you still find time to mow the lawn is itself amazing... you have really been cruising along with this

I got a chance to cover the right wheel well & Q panel with the GT Mat sound deadener this afternoon.

Once I'm done applying the deadener I will hit the seams & trunk floor with the truck bed liner spray then give it a colour shot to finish the trunk area off

I applied the final colour coat in the trunk this morning
I decided to apply the Rust-o-leum Hammered Gray which turned out real nice and applied nicely overthe GT Mat sound deadener well too.

Don't I know it...
I still have a ways to go too. re install interior, sound deadening, re-wiring to the rear, convertible top, mount the spare tire, repaint the trunk deck on the under side, finish up the rear axles & brakes, fluids, .... Should be done next week!

I test fit the trunk mat last night but it doesn't fit very good at all.

I checked the invoice and see that I was shipped a mat for a 65 Fury...

I have started a new thread on this too

Trunk Mat fit... 1966 Polara

I got the well liner installed today and installed the soft top and did some painting on the back of the car.
I think the paint matched up pretty good considering it came out of a rattle can...
The areas I painted will not show with the trunk lid closed and the bumper will hide the rear of the painted area too. :)

It's coming along.

Finally... a good use for those old clothes pins...

Looking good, when this is finished what is left until it's on the road?

Thanks it's been a long road to get to this point.

the current list is...
rework the wiring harness to the trunk
repaint the underside of the trunk lid.
mount the rear bumper & brackets
install the tail lights
install the interior including a new carpeting
finish installing the ragtop
remove the over spray from the rear plastic window - previous restorer didn't mask much off...
Finish the rear brakes including bead blasting the backing plates
Install rear axles, fill differential
Bleed the system
Install the gas tank after refinishing the exterior of the tank...
If time permits, I'll install the power bench seat controls/wiring that i bought from DeMatt earlier this year
