Does anyone have a photo of a car with Imperial, Chrysler or Dodge 880 in Silver Turquoise? My original paint is sun damaged.

I'm going to repaint my car and it's color code is "K" and it seems like one panel was resprayed with Dodge, Plymouth "K". I don't want to end up spraying the wrong shade.

Does anyone know why they would be different? Is it because one would have more metallic than the other? Thank you in advance!

Could you show the chip book to the paint shop and have them mix from 4505 181-96948? I think some of them have computers to "see" the chip then replicate the mixture.

If you're wondering about the original color, it should be "intact" on the inside of the deck lid (where UV light can't get to it). Similar on the inside edges of the door or door jamb.

Be advised, that according to the "Refinish" section of the '66 FSM, that metallic paint can have different appearances due to the spray gun pressure. The color might be exact, but if it is sprayed at a too high or too low pressure (from the factory-spec air pressure), the metallic particles can orient differently and make the color APPEAR lighter or darker than it should. IF the repaired section might have been done in lacquer rather than the factory-spec acrylic enamel, not receiving "care" after it was done, it could have aged not-so-well, also.

You've got all of the correct numbers, just getting them mixed in single-stage acrylic enamel or the newer basecoat/clearcoat acrylic enamel might be the trick. I believe that some of the older formulas might not completely mesh with the newer paints and formulas. But a good paint supply should have a way to do a match, I suspect.

Should be a nice looking car when completed.

Enjoy!

The paint on the hood of this car was applied at Jefferson Avenue. To my eye, the right rear quarter panel looks closer to the factory color than any of the rest of your car.

It Also looks dirty and oxidized, it might lighten up if it were color sanded and rubbed out.
