No way I can replace that whole outer wheelhouse. I’d have to cut too much good metal to do it so I’m just going to cut out what’s bad and patch it.

Sweet, looks period correct, and 99% of people won't know it's not factory. NOS??

Super work, Matt....thanks for sharing all of the updates. I'm thinking your progress gives more than a few of us the confidence to keep pushing on our projects. John

Yes it’s NOS. The problem with it is it would never stay put on the table while driving and putting the sticky back metal baseplate anywhere so the magnetic base would work on it is out of the question. I bought this one to see if it could be retrofitted to plug right into the lighter socket at the base of the stem Like it would’ve originally.
Hey Matt, I just thought of something. Where is the threaded base cap stored when the table is installed? Is there a special pocket sosomewhere?
To my knowledge you were on your own to figure these things out. If you had to actually remove the table let’s say you were traveling with 5 adults, it would have to go in the trunk or be left in the garage. The wrench and cap would obviously fit in the glove box and possibly the light too. The light I will keep in the cabin somewhere if not the glove box but the cap and wrench will probably go in a travel bag/shaving kit pouch and be stored in the trunk by the jack and jumper cables. Ooooh or maybe a Crown Royal bag!

More fun with lasers!
in the first pic the laser goes through the center of the wheel skirt slots while the second marks the front of the slot.

Still have a little more cutting and fitting to do but it’s going to be right on!

Skirt fit is everything on these cars. I'm very gratified that my car is rot free and needs very little body work.

That laser looks handy, do you have a source for it?
It is invaluable to me. It’s from Pacific Laser Systems and I bought this one from one of my building materials supplier.
