The Hurst Registry

I wondered where this pic came from and I see it was already posted in this thread. Any idea who took the pic?
I have no idea, and don't know how I came across it. It has a timestamp of Dec 28, 2020 but that means nothing. Lots of mysteries surrounding the Hurst cars.......

I know it's been there a while. I've owned my '70 300 for 12 years and as I said, I think I have parts from that car. The spare grille I have must have come from that car.

Wouldn't there be a cowl stamp of the vin?
If not, where would it be on this C?

Indeed. @Big_John has indicated that it's a bit far for him, so the key is to find members who live closer to Watertown NY.

@1970cat -- is Watertown close enough for you to perhaps stop by, and/or do you know a member who'd be able to look?

@cbarge and @twostick are on the other side of the border, but technically closer.
watertown is about 2 hours in the wrong direction for me. there was a member here once from fort drum near watertown but i can't remember their username.

I was trying to figure that out and maybe it was mopar_4life. He hasn't been on in a couple years.

Is that the spare grille I have now or is that another one you had?

Jack Forkey was very instrumental in my BoaB project.
He would call me with first dibs on slab C body stuff since I had connections and he had zero interest in C body schtuff other than their vital organs.
ABE cars is his gig.
The last time I visited Jack was with Grace.
The Hurst is gone. There was nothing usable left on the shell anyways.
He tried selling the car complete but nobody bit.
After a period of time he parted it out to get his money back.
It is a business after all.
You cant save them all.
I used 5 different parts cars that he chopped up for my Newport.
Without Jack my car would not be on the road.

I kind of thought the picture of the Hurst was taken recently. At least that's how I read the thread on FABO.

what happened to the members map? that was a useful tool.
I don't think it's on any of the for only sites. I was looking for it on fbbo the other day to no avail.
The map still exists, at a web address that I bookmarked years ago. AFAICT, there is no way to update the information. As a result, what I have is a 6-7 years old snapshot of locations for members who had entered their info into the map. Even though some of the info is by now obsolete, that map has continued to help me find folks (to look at cars, provide relevant local info, etc.)

I agree that an updated map would be an extremely useful item to have.

I messaged the guy that posted the thread at FABO and he tells me that pic was just taken May 17th.

So the car is probably still there.
