Looks like you could clean up those valve covers in the original aluminum. I personally don't like painted aluminum.

Actually, I'm gonna clean them up and sell them. I want factory stamped tin.

I wonder how much it would cost to un-do all the wrong things he did to it.

Lose the hood scoop buffoonery...one can only hope there is no hole in the hood. Hope that all the NY trim/ clips weren't thrown away and that all the clip mounting nipples weren't ground off...but it looks like they were. I guess chrome isn't "bad ***". Detail the engine properly...cost? Fairly cheap is everything is still there...

I fear though that Commando is right and this NY is going to wind up another messed up "restoration"

I can't see it going into my car. the engine runs like new. Most of the reason for buying that block is I've become an out of control hoarder of all things NYB. Including a back-up engine. Very silly of me but that's the way it is...

If I had the room I would have a backup 440 to replace the 400 and a backup 727 too.

I don't think I've seen a C-body yet tht looks good with a 6 pack hood scoop.

The only cars that look good with that scoop is a 69 A12 B body. They wern't meant to look good

I agree. The original steel valve covers look the best on mopar B engines. All business. Leave the aluminum and chrome "niffy naffys" for the chevys.......

A little goes a long way with hoodscoops on street cars, IMO. Certain muscle cars can pull off a subtle scoop but anything big is gonna look silly on the street.
