Then why do you want to rip it out? If it's running well at this point in time leave it alone, until it dies. It's actually a decent system until they go wrong. I've had many cars with it and have had very good luck with them, as long as you don't go ripping things out that you don't understand.
If it runs well, leave it alone! Don't over think it, there were a lot of horror stories about the system that were dead wrong. Mostly from backyard mechanics who had no idea how it actually worked. Someone they knew who didn't know any better said they are junk so, they made them junk by pulling this off and that off until they rendered the system inoperative.
If you do replace it, I hope you replace it with a Mopar system. There are many threads on here about the many troubles with after market systems.
The original Chrysler electronic system is pretty much bullet proof. Very simple and very inexpensive.
