What's the point?

If you're doing a coolant flush what's the point of running the fan blower on high when just having the temperature knob/lever on hot would work with the fan speed on low or off (for analog systems) isn't the fan on high just a moot point?

Prove me wrong here...

On a lot of newer stuff if the fan is off, everything is off so I guess it's to insure all appropriate valves are WFO.
