Wow - How we have grown!!!

I was responding to the statement "The "c's" are soon becoming the next mopar fad". Although I've experienced a couple incidents at cruise nights of people moving their cars away from mine when I parked next to their "popular" muscle car, I too have had lots of positive comments and agree it is rewarding to get them. But I'm also realistic enough to understand that the same person giving a compliment about your car does not translate into a putting their money where their mouth is. Their first choice would still be an A, B or E body. This is what I'm referring to as a lack of respect and continue to maintain that in terms of overall popularity we will remain a small minority.

I used own a couple B's, an A, and an E all before jumping into my latest C (had a c before this one). I don't think I'm any different or better than anyone else out there looking for a set of mopar wheels. I've read years ago there was a time you could get a hemi car for $1500 bucks. NOW look at ANY hemi car......better sell your house first, and it better be a McMansion. Its the same deal. As these types of cars disappear for good they will become more popular with more people, we can already see this happening it is finally coming to the c body realm.

I have heard that same song for fifteen years on various sites... Nothing has changed

You guys just really do not want c's to become popular that's the vibe I'm getting here........and I CAN sympathize with that, but it's folly to deny it. Its coming........whether you want it too or not. Just like time.

I'm glad that you are an optimist about our cars but I think you are mistaken suggesting rarity will develop into popularity. The reason the hemi cars became popular is that back in the day every kid wanted one. Our cars were at best bankers hot rods and at worst mom and dads grocery getters.

Why would we not? Its not coming, would be nice. but its not happening. If it were the aftermarket vendors would be gearing up to make you a brand new aftermarket grille made in china for $34.95. Until then, you'll have to settle for the NOS three hundred dollar one.

true...Cs were family cars in the old days .....times that went bye bye long ago ......now a C-body still re-captures a time thats gone same as any HEMI car. in fact a C would more likely re-capture a time long past better than a HEMI bcoz more ppl had memories in C-bodys and cars like Wagons, and six cylinder darts ....all were undesirable at one time but its a new world now and to try to re-capture days long past is getting harder and harder with streets full of modern pimp cars and plastic junk now. so makes sense why C-bodys are getting more popular and desirable now

With some of the recent "Asking" prices we've seen you'd think "C" Bodies were at least as valuble as "A" & "B" Bodies.

Yah, I'm optimistic. I'm seeing it out there.

Key word there is asking. Yes, many people who have these cars may indeed drive up the price just because of the ridiculous asking prices.

Not bingo. So your telling me that 35 years after the last C body was built people NOW want to relive their youth but they havent in general ever before?

:bs_flag:

Are you kidding me??? What you think Viagra and Cialis were created just to freshen your breath?? Really???

well its maybe not to re-live a youth but these are cool cars from cool times and they are getting more and more scarce every year.

they appeal to younger ppl now because younger ppl dont have the image of these being boring mom and dad cars anymore.

and older ppl like them bcoz they are like nothing in the new market.

why do you own yours if they are so undesireable?

im into it because i refuse to be forced into what the new market dictates is so called "cool" i wasnt even born when these cars were being produced but its easy to see a time that will never be re-captured but should be brought back.......before Americans were slaves to the Japanese car-makers and had real style

When I got seriously into C's around 2001 I shared your sentiments. No longer. I can't see today's kids getting into them either. They will be focusing on old Celicas when they get the chance. I hope you prove me wrong.
