Old Man with a Hat
Thanks for bringing these up......... always liked the AMC breed
Thanks for posting, I had no idea this vehicle exists. I can understand why it didn't go into production, it's far too beautiful to be an AMC.
Agreed... Teague was a genius at producing something from nothing and without a budget... AMC would have sucked a lot more without him.AMC made some good stuff. Not too beautiful for AMC but rather unusual for them
It is a cool looking car. Looks a lot like the Ford DeTomaso Pantera to me. I also found some pics of some styling excecises Chrysler was doing on the E body cars. They had a couple of clay molds that looked similar. I think I read they had two design teams that where instructed to come up with two completely different cars.
Pics maybe?? Lol I've always loved the DeTamosos . That AMX/3 is gorgeous tho. To bad AMC couldn't have pulled through. Aside from the pacer gremlin and a couple others thru the years they did build some cool cars!!I have read that the Pantera was about to come out at the same time. Ford beat AMC to the punch & sold them at the Mercury dealers for 10k. AMC realized that at that price point they couldn't compete and stopped production. Some of the lines look a little like a Miura, but there is more Pantera in the AMC design than anything, or is it the other way around? I do have a Pantera that was on the first shipment to the US, a pushbutton. That was barn find, or storage find for me as well. Sitting in a sea storage container since 1975 in Westly California.
Yes!! Italy does have a history of building beautiful things!!This car and the Pantera are rolling art sculpture!
Just gorgeous from every angle. As beautiful as anything from Italy. (car that is)
