Custom cars

Not very practical but very cool!!

Very true, Love the old radials and I couldn't cut up an old plymouth pick up either, maybe just on a test stand or

It was built by Petri Hälvä in Finland. Iirc, it was sold to Denmark and again to Sweden where it is nowadays.
That takes some sack!! That car is pretty rare here, more so the case on Finland! Hats off to the builder!

Rare car, yes. But back in the nineties, you couldn't give those cars away.

I've seen pics of the Finnish car and I like it. I never liked how the rear license plate area was done on the Inman car and the Finnish car did it better while still staying with the tunneled plate. I like the front of Inman's car better though.

Sketch done by my father in the 60's, it was later realized in scale on a 58 T-Bird. I have the model but will need to do a little restoration before it is presentable.

He did many customs in the 50's and later, I always felt his calling was auto design not arcitecture but was probably more of a risk at that time.

That's pretty sweet!!! How many cars did he build? Or were most just drawn! That rendering feels very familiar btw!

Lots of models, many didn't survive over the years. The bubble topic the sketch is a backwards Lincoln Futura (aka Batmobile). For the last four months I have been digging and clearing trash, we are just now getting to the point where we can go through the hobby boxes. I have found some of the more recent ones. As I can organize I'll be sharing.

Awesome!! Looking forward to seeing them! Looks like he definitely had some talent!

I'm not one to preach... but that sounds like a car that should not have been cut up.
Considering the rarity of it,couple that with the fact that olds says they never made it , I can agree with that statement John. Ya gotta admit tho, it is a great looking car!!

My father did some work for Hot Wheels designer Bruce Schultz for a little while, Bruce owns the true to life NoNomad that was turned into a Hot Wheels. I saw the car first hand when it was pretty much a stock 57 2-door wagon with a Cadillac mid engine utilizing the 60's front wheel drive transaxle. While my father spent time there he developed the roof-line that is now on the car. The car started of as a 2-door wagon not a Nomad hence the name NoNomad.

One thing about having lived in Bakersfield for 20 years, the custom car market is quite hot there - so is the weather! Ha! Here are a few pics I took over the years.
