Wow... that's awesome that you can get the newer paint to break loose like that...
I suppose they didn't scuff the original paint before respraying...
You have been holding out on me. Have you had this car for a while or is it a recent acquisition?
Unit number? VIN? Build date? In service date? Date plate picture?
I need more, pictures, pictures, pictures... please!
Alan
I did not put the two together, although this one doesn't have the original engine and it does need work. I would rather put more work into one that has the original engine. Even when I was looking for mine I would have passed on this one. $1000? I might look twice but not a penny more, that is just me, I can't overlook the missing engine (which would cost to get a complete 440).If I recall correctly in Dec of 2014 Alan advised this was a $1000 parts car.
All 1969 CHP Polara (which this is) had hp440's in them, all had AC for the first time.Nice car!
Is it an original 440 car?
Hi Alan. GREAT find!! For us in the Northeast, your car would have been a pile of rust many years ago. Do you know any of its history? At our Dept of Transportation; a guy who worked as head of dept had records of PA State Police Cars going back to the 50's! However, when he retired in the early 80's, he threw away all of the records including documentation on mine and where it might have been stationed. I think I shed a tear hearing that.
Any pics available of the interior??
Thanks
Chris
