Muthah F...........!!! Went to a car show last night and

Other than giving the insurance someone to chase, it won't matter. Florida won't address parking lot damage as it happened on private property... Big John is welcome to snowbird here, but I would drive the Merc while in this state.

If you find the guy, I'll come help feed the alligators.

I wouldnt care if its covered or not. The SOB that did it has a moral obligation which he didnt live up to. Stan is now obligated to seek him out, hunt him down and remind him of car show etiquette and humiliate him . :elmer:

Are you saying Hagerty won't cover it? I have zero deductible.
Hagerty should be fine... the cops probably won't be useful. Hagerty may pursue the OP if they have witnesses, but this is why I have them and enough coverage to assure I don't lose the car over a wrinkled fender.

BTW... my bumper is a loser... went to grab some condition pics and found a rust bubble that I could put my thumbnail through.

That little tweak from the old guy in the gas station right after I got her should pull easy and the bumper could be stripped and welded if a better one wasn't out there... but I'm pretty sure you will find one.

That's easily fixable.

Id go back and look for the bastard that was parked next to you. Actually, every car event in the tri county area for the rest of my life Id be looking.

agree 100%..........make sure the next time you go anywhere you take a lot pf pics..........and my guess is the person who hit you will have a similar mark on their bumper and prob won't have it fixed. A real man would have came over and admitted it, but it could also have been a blue hair would doesn't even realize they hit you........yes, there are some who should have had their license revoked a long time ago because they really are that clueless. You know, the same deadbeats who make drs appts in the morning early so they can put everyone else through hell during rush hour when they have all day to go wherever.

Back in 1995 I had a 67 Cutlass ragtop and I was hit from behind.....ins company gave me $150 for a 'good used bumper'. Could not find one for any price back then.

You guys just had to get me started, didn't ya?

It definitely is, but it starts to take the appeal away when you figure stripping, welding and chroming into the equation. Plus the little tweak I think could be pulled out by hand. I gave a link on another core I am aware of, but it has a small dent that might be worse to deal with than mine. I think "good" and "used" are going to be a tough combination to find... Either pay up for good or settle for what used has to offer these days.

I had believed mine was in better shape... still a good core to work from.

The bumper place I linked had a good reputation for straightening really wadded up bumpers and I had them fix a couple that were bent up and they did a good job. That was a long time ago and I don't know if that is the case now. They should be able to take care of dings and holes pretty easily.

Of course, even they will tell you that the better the piece is that they start with, the better the results.

Unfortunately, I've seen that happen a couple of times. Did more damage to their own car but still. I don't go to cruise nights at bars anymore for this reason.

Jeez, do you have to set up trail camera's to go to a car show in Florida?

Sorry to hear that Stan!

Haggerty will cover it, no questions asked. Their good that way.

Tri City plating in Elizabethton Tenn will fix that bumper and show plate it with a lifetime warrantee. I've had over a hundred bumpers repaired and plated by them. THE BEST....!

The center section containing the B/U light on my 58 was bent completely in half. I searched and searched for another when Chuck, at Tri City, said.... "I can fix that". He did.

Sorry to see that Stan. Character and integrity are in short supply anymore. As well as driver competence. At a car event no less! :(
