The Sport Fury S/23: how many survived?

Yes it is a just dashes... as I remember it took about 15 weeks and fourteen hundred dollars... looks great ... but I sent another one to ABC mopar... 4 weeks and 8 hundred dollars and it looks just as good ... yes they're mine... bad habits die hard
I received a photo of the body code plate from my previous SF Brougham this afternoon:
It is H5B3 which means the seat is supposed to be a vinyl material with a cloth insert:

But the H5 materials shown in the Color & Trim selector on the Hamtramck Registry site do not match the appearance of the "cloth" materials for the inserts on my car. And if the inserts are cloth, it is sure an excellent vinyl look and feel alike! I personally believe Chrysler might have consolidated all of the Brougham interiors into one set of materials which were all vinyl like on my previous car as a production running change for such low volumes and eliminated all the other options as a cost and complexity reduction. But we will not know for sure unless we see more body code plates and more production Brougham interiors. Another mopar curiousity.

I was thinking the dashpad in the photo was Just Dashes because the contour lines were a little less crisp compared to the production pads and it seems there is a little lifting of the vinyl recovering at the right end of the insert. I personally like the ABC Mopars dashpad not only because it is considerably less expensive, but also because the contour lines are a little more crisp, more like the factory pads. And I have never had one show any lifting...........
I have the same bad habits - good for you! I feel better now - i.e. less insane
And I believe you have great taste in automobiles!

Saw that Friday he is out of Illinois I think anyone know if he is a member? Has several cars posted on his FB page....why was this car not discussed here ...are we slipping? Or did I miss it somewhere??

Sometimes the scans do not justice to the actual material. I still have the 68, 69 and 71 c/t books. You can tell the materials in the books are cloth and not vinyl. When you scan the pages, the materials do not always appear as they are in real life.

I'm sorry Steve maybe I'm missing something, but the car in question; the fender data tag is not a 70 Sport Fury GT.
As you know the 70 GT's were all T code 440 cars or V code 440 6BBL cars. In addition the tag on your "GT" is absent of the A52 code for GT. Nor is it an S/23; it's absent of the A51 code.
It may be a Sport Fury with "High" line interior AKA "Brougham" car, but it isn't a GT or an S/23.
Not meaning to be pedantic or too picky,......just sayin'!

I made a mistake in saying it was a GT above, so thanks for catching that (in my defense, I was frustrated with trying to respond to the previous post, only to have my response freeze up and then have to wait a long time and refresh the response to get it to go forward again - several times - I have had this problem on this site for a couple days now - am I the only one?). I have corrected the mistake above. I am and always have been fully aware it isn't a GT. It is "only" a Sport Fury Brougham, still a very rare car. I do have a real 1970 SFGT though still and am familiar with all the codes you mention. It is the one Carsten longs for since it is B7 blue. Thanks.

WWWOWW. Nice catch fc7. add another to the list -we up to 32 now? You know, Google image search is supposed to find that picture, but when I'm looking to try and find more/new/un found pics of GTs or S23's its "craps" every time. I use all manner of search terms and permutations of terms on Info searches and image searches- and I still don't catch these images. I even go on different computers at different locations to try and thwart the stupid search engine preference algorithm (yes i clear all memory, cache, history, etc, but it still constrains me to showing only whatever it finds after 3 consecutive searches). It really annoys me because somebody finds one just like this, and it SHOULD have come up in my search -but didn't.

yes, you have really done a fantastic job bringing this one back -looks great. Are you a different/new owner than the one who bought it and posted it to the registry? BTW, are those the Challenger exhaust tips or did you actually find the real-deal SFGT exhaust tips (had a chance to buy a pair on ebay for $600 8 years ago and thought it was too pricey...ha! the d@#mn things are $1500 now -if you can find them!)

I feel your pain, brother. Everytime I get close to beating Google in its limitations, they change the algorithm.
600 is a deal....... gotta buy things like that when they show up.Some items are too scarce to pass on

Sitting high in the front... looks like the engine was pulled. Seems like a pretty solid car too. Terrain looks like she's in southwest Texas, but that guess probably isn't even close ... but how long ago was this pic taken, and what happened to this one Carsten?
