I recently upgraded my inlet manifold. This is genuinely what I found under the valley gasket!
No apparent damage.
I’m still stunned!!

I rebuilt my first engine, 1970 429 CJ in a GT Torino, one rod end wasn’t torqued properly and when I had to repair it, I found I’d left a screwdriver in the lifter galley, and no damage happened to my engine either. Things happen:)

Friend of mine found a almost exact looking hammer under his cowl panel of his 2006 AMG Mercedes - direct from Deutschland ! I will have to ask if his says "Made in USA" too!!

I'd be interested in seeing some pics of that. Always loved the torino's

when we were kids , their was a house down the block with three hot rodders brothers lived . one day , the youngest brother was getting into he shelby 500 428 . pulled the twin fours intake to find he older brothers torque wrench complete with the socket from when he torqued the heads down . worst part was he told his brother , he put all his tool back away . and big bros standing there when the intake got pulled off , sorry bro he said as his brother was swinging that torque wrench at him as he flee'd the seen .

This Beatle's tune comes to mind:

"Bang bang Maxwell's silver hammer came down upon his head.
Bang bang Maxwell's silver hammer made sure that he was dead."

And I always thought the "head" in the song was a human head, and not a cylinder head!

Holy smokes! Just found this thread. My theory is it was a practical joke by a coworker... In any case you should frame it and put it up in your workshop with a little engraved plaque. Great story. Thanks for sharing.
