Short somewhere behind the dash in 1969 Fury III

So when I tested the window washer on my Fury, I found it was dead. Had a look around and found the ground screw for the washer assembly was missing, and a piece of electrical tape wound around the tab it would go through. I put a screw in and .... the key wasn't even in the ignition and the...

Rust near both lower corners of windscreen

So 1969 Fury III convertible, I hadn't noticed this until I happened to have the bonnet up and the doors open at the same time while replacing the door jamb switches. Is this a common rust point and if so how depressed should I feel? For now, I got a long brush and painted some Ku-rust...

WANTED 69 Fury convertible rear window regulators

Both sides would be good, the passenger side is the really screwed up one, the gear has pretty much stripped inside. Will also take any runners/etc you have with them.

Convertible boots 1969 Fury - correct clips

Hi, a friend in the states ordered a convertible boot for me from legendary, it's arrived with plastic clips sewn into the edge but my car has a piece of trim with about 30 metal snaps along it. Is the boot the wrong one or has someone put the wrong fixings on my car? I think it kind of looks...

    Phantom windscreen washer

Edit: car is 1969 Fury III So a few weeks ago I noticed the windscreen washer doesn't work. I had some time to look at it today and saw that the tube had been unplugged from the bonnet jets, and aimed at the floor. The bottom screw with the earth wire had been removed. Put a screw in and ...

Measuring the transmission fluid level (727)

So here's my problem - I checked the transmission fluid last week and I was seeing a bead of oil just on the twisted end of the dipstick. This was after warming the car up, shifting through the gears a few times and leaving it idling in neutral. I took this to mean the level was low - so I...

    Tyres - whitewall sizes

A small and strange question - so I found the tyres on my car are 12 years old, so it's time to get them replaced. I found the original receipt in the glovebox, car uses 235/75/15 Coker whitewalls all round, but for some reason 2 were purchased with 2-1/2" walls and the other 2 are 2-7/8" Does...

WANTED 1969 convertible rear right side window regulator

I'll take a L & R pair if anyone has them, but I really need to find a rear right side window regulator as the window is basically unusable at this point.

    Possible to repair window regulators?

On my 69 Fury the rear quarter window regulator slips - it's very stiff (actually both rears are really bad) but the passenger side slips constantly when you try to wind it up. It's definitely not the splines on the handle itself so I'm assuming it's a problem with that small drive gear that...

WANTED 1969 Fury interior panels/trim (convertible & base)

I need to find all the following if anyone is able to help: Rear bench speaker grille (undented) Under dash cover panel - part number 2927300 . Every fitting hole is busted on mine, it was held on with chewing gum and being hung on the ignition switch nut. Seriously. Rear seat belt holder -...

1969 Fury III reverse lights come on in reverse or drive.

I wish I'd checked this when buying the car last week - in park or neutral the reversing lights are off as expected, but in reverse and drive they come on. Is a faulty neutral safety switch able to cause that or a column shifter issue?

1969 Fury ignition switch cylinder removal

Does anyone have instructions or photos for removing the ignition switch lock cylinder? Mine is basically unusable most of the time, the key won't turn unless you jiggle it a lot, sometimes it gets stuck and won't come out. The switch behaves correctly once the lock releases. Service manual...

Remove inner trim (non-door card) on convertible '69?

I need to remove the rear trim cards from both sides on a 69 Fury convertible, can't seem to find anything about them in the service manual - does the rear bench need to come out to remove them? Are there any clips likely to break I should be aware of? I can see one screw on the panel edge...

Fuel options for 1969 Fury with 383 engine (UK)

So it seems like I'll be picking my new Fury up next week - I live in the UK and the best fuel we have is generally Shell V-Power, which is supposed to be 99 RON. For a 1969 383 4 barrel, what kind of additives if any should I look at adding to look after the engine - would this one do the...

    Convertible well liner fitting

Hi, does anyone happen to have any photos of how the well liner should be attached? The service manual isn't really descriptive enough. The push studs are simple but I'm not sure which part of the seat back it should be attaching to. The 1969 car I'm buying has one with a slight tear in it...

Looking to buy a Fury III, advice on a located car / warning signs?

So I'm looking to vent my inner mid life crisis, and the best way seems to be buying a big convertible cruiser. I found a 1969 Fury 3 fairly nearby, can you see any obvious issues? Pretty sure the fender skirts are aftermarket, car was originally metallic green and it wasn't a bare metal...
