Probably not real and probably a repeat, but here goes: 71 SPORT FURY GT PROMO EX FACTORY SHOW CAR..1 0F 2 BUILT.. 440 4 T COD

This may have been a very early promo car #266 to roll off the assembly line (8-2-70), but it does not have the correct option codes for '71 SFGT: Wrong engine code, E-85, should be E86. Missing A52 option code on build tag. Vin number, T-code engine, also not correct, should be U code if this was a production SFGT. Note that the SFGT badge on the trunk appears to have been relocated from a different vehicle as the imprint from the previous badge is evident on the trunk lid. There would have to be documentation that this was indeed a promo car. The factory would sometimes build an odd ball car like this for car shows etc. I think it is suspect.

In any case, rusty quarters, missing correct engine and suspect lineage suggests that this vehicle is way over priced.

its a 100% correct 71 GT FACTORY SHOW CAR..E85 is correct for a T code [only 2 built in 71] .. car was ordered so early for show duty while the V code was still in the option lineup.. [it was cancelled before production started and all GT's were then decided to be U code [NORMAL PUBLIC PRODUCTION cars anyway ]...orig trunk bezel is still with car not relocated.. no documentation needed.. fender tag proves it all... surely there are others out there cheaper yes... but if you want something not every othr 71 GT owner has..well this may be the one!..good luck

Here is the tag decoded for anyone interested. Click on mail0132PDF

It is the second 71 GT to roll off the assembly line on 8/2/1970. Both were T code cars likely ordered well before 8/2 and before Chrysler sorted out engines etc. Remember, there almost was a '71 S/23. Chrysler went so far as to order a '71 S/23 insert for the trunk lock bezel and then ended up axing the '71 S/23.

Early production cars can be oddballs and sometimes are built with leftover parts from the prior year.

Persistence.

Body panels from a donor PP23, or a good panel fabrication shop. Expensive but can be done, just need deep pockets. Stripe kits are now available, that used to be a major stumbling block. Trunk bezels are hard to find and expensive. Most everything else is standard production stuff.

Please do not take offense but that is terrible. Before you start saying what is right and wrong you should educate yourself on the 1971 Sport Fury GT. Instead of making incorrect statements maybe try asking some questions (or use the search function on here).

In 1971 the only car that will start with the PP23 code will be the Sport Fury GT. In 1971 the GT became its own model...that is also why you won't find the A53 (but you probably meant the A52) on the fender tag.

No offense taken. A53 was a typo it is now fixed.
It would be a shame to find another solid 1971 Sport Fury GT only to part it out to save this car.

Dave

Thinking of a wreck or some other non repairable car, granted rare and very difficult to come by in a PP23. Rear quarters that are rust free from any 2dr HT for 70-71 Fury are a tough find.
