Does anyone know a reputable rear end rebuild shop in northern California, Bay Area?
67 Imp with 742 case sure grip. Has a low speed howl and now things are clunking. I can roll at idle and hear click, crock, clunk every second or couple. I read a first step is just replacing the fluid/additive and see if that improves, but I find that hard to believe it would resolve such severe clunking...is that a worthwhile step??
I found this link on the site; https://www.bigblockmopar.nl/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/MoparSureGripManual.pdf
and I do have the service manual, but I don't have tools beyond the basics. Maybe it's still worth it to buy all the gauges and things but working with precise measurements has never been in my comfort zone.
Anyone rebuilt one of these? Should I give it a go or stick to the safe side of things and find a shop to do it, then any recommendations of a shop?
Sorry for the long post, I get rambling when I type. Thanks in advance!
