Lets hope this insanity doesn't kill it... at this point, I'd think a good campaign to drum up business and a little luck as to how long they are mandated to stay closed could make this a good season for them. Traditional theaters are going to be closed much longer, or at least should be, and there's gotta be lots of folks who'd welcome a change of pace. I'd brave a 90* humid FL evening and our FL state bird (mosquito) to enjoy a change of pace...
I'm trying to decide if driving an hour 1 way to see one of my favorite movies, American Graffiti which seems so right to see it at the Drive-in. I may have to make the trip if it's a nice night.

What a perfect double feature. If I was 30 years younger I would drive the 6 hour round trip to see it.
Nice to know, I think that would be a fun cruise to take some time. I am fortunate enough to have the biggest activities this weekend in my own community. Live music Friday & Sunday, fireworks on Saturday and numerous other activities on and off the water, and the weather will be perfect.

The local drive in here closed last year. After the death of the owner/operator the family accepted a generous offer for the property. Prior to that it was always busy yet on the verge of closing Why? Being independently owned, they had either pay a premuim for the latest movies or being lower on the pecking order wait for the movie to run in the big box multiplex first. Secondly movies nowadays are digital and our drive in was still running film. The movie distibutors no longer supply film forcing the owner to ask the community for help in a charitable function to convert 3 projector rooms to digital Just this week, the new owner of the drive in submitted to the city a change in zoning to open a Kenny U pull wrecking yard. Sad.

Western Ave, OKC One in Tulsa: Admiral Drive-in, Tulsa. Opened 1958, closed 2010, reopened a year later after the 2010 fire. Over 1,000 parking spots! Double-features, two screens. 735 E. Easton St, Tulsa There are drive-ins located also in Chickasha, Poteau, Shattuck and Springer, OK; for a total of seven in Oklahoma!
