Dennis. That's his name.

Thermoquuad .....nothing else will do

So. finally we have success, two calipers, pair of flex hoses and a carb rebuild and adjustment and it finally runs and drives good.

Oh and Mike, if it wasn't night in a residential neighborhood I would have ran siren as well.

Nice Nick, I knew you would come through for me. I do expect a video with the siren blaring sometime in the future. :)

That's a cool toy!

Nick: I think you are a bit of a ham - same as me. . .

Dennis looks great, love the video.

I'm enjoying him, 46 miles in the last 24 hours. Had up to 80 MPH on the highway, got the thumbs up from one of my local OPP's. Got myself and my better half a couple burgers from the local diner, had a good cruise, Dennis drew a lot of attention, lots of questions, before leaving I did a lap of the parking lot with his lights on and gave a few chimes of the siren which was a crowd pleaser!

Yep. . . Definitely a ham. . .
I do it for the kids, they love that kind of stuff, and well I'm a sucker for kids.

You're entitled ...... NEVER had trouble with a Thermoquad, now the Holley on the other hand. Much prefer a Carter anything over a Holley
If I was going to run a brandnew carb it would be and Edelbrock as then it would be based off the Carter AVS.....

Gave Dennis a rainy day test drive on sunday.

Tonight I took Dennis to his first local cruise night where he was very well received. Everyone had nice things to say, and lots of questions, lots of pictures were taken of my big old Plymouth.

Found my charging issue, the red wire is a ground for the voltage regulator.

Great to see Dennis out and about, keep up the good work.

Nick: That car is turning out really well. You are truly a master restoration mechanic.

BTW, whats up with that fuggily air cleaner? Its really running down the neighborhood in the engine compartment. Also, I think the mouth on that thing is the biggest I ever saw on a single snorkel. Is there supposed to be a fresh air duct attached to it ?

Rip

looks great nick. how is he running? by the way, i'm sure you'll have many more gas stops :)

It's from around an '80 or so 318 near as I can find out, because I'll be replacing it, I left it as it was.

He was running good......................till last wednesday night, on my way home he started idling rough and then not at all. He then proceeded to die in traffic in a live lane on me, rather then screw around I called the local PD who dispatched me a unit to block traffic for me while I awaited my tow. Upon some searching I found some melted wires and found farther in the harness where someone had been screwing around, when I reconnected the plug, it made the wire live again. While I was at it, I was noticing some issues with cooling, so a $60 trip to the scrapyard yielded a 26" rad and shroud from a '73 B300 Sportsman. some playing and it fits well, just need to pick up some rad hoses tomorrow.
