Check out Kid Rock at the .52 second mark....

My sentiments exactly!

The NFL won't show scumbags running on the field....so why do they put the camera on this scumbag when he won't stand during the National Anthem!

+1 bench anyone that does this for the game, per infraction. in any sport. at any age level.

if i was coach id make you run laps until you puked, then id throw you off the team.

Pride and Patriotism i just find Anoying. If he dont want to stand up then that is his Choice. I dont support His beliefs and the reasons why he did it but so be it. I dont want to live in a Society where we are forced to do things.

I beleive in Actions and if I want to show support for Our Troops then i can say Thank you to one in person or Buy one a Meal, Do charity for them. Not Standing and Taking off Your cap. Or puting some Ribbon on the back of my car. That is a Symbol and Symbols shall be leaved for the Symbol Minded.

I echo Kid Rock's sentiments and will add this... If everyone just said that and didn't get into the discussion of what's right and wrong, his 10 minutes of fame would have been over last week.

Maybe he should sit down for the National Anthem in protest of all the people in Chicago that are shooting each other. Nothing but a $19,000,000 per year spoiled d-bag that is fortunate to have been adopted by a white family. Where would he be now, if some inner-city "family" would have adopted him? Make a real statement and give 1 year's salary to a charity that exists to reduce inner-city violence....oh wait there are none

Um, don't some of you guys have a big NFL thread running here? This year the NFL will get twice as much money from me... that is to say zero dollars.

And while I understand the downside of forced patriotism, I also understand that whoever this dumbass is could call a press conference any day of the week and receive plenty of coverage for this alleged cause. But he doesn't because using an NFL game anthem is easier.

And you should all be excercising your right to vote with your wallet, or just admit the NFL is the "circus" in the bread and circuses you're being fed.

Just another reason pro sports are becoming a hard-watch for me.
You hear this guy speak? What college did he go too?

He can say or protest what ever he wants but do it at the right time, go on Larry King or some other talk show. I remember years ago my wife was watching one of the awards shows and Richard Gere received some award and instead of a thank you speech he took his time at the mic to slam our then president George W. The arrogance of most of these people is just crazy.

The Dixie Chicks did the same thing at a concert in England with disastrous results. Natalie Maines the lead singer slammed George W and the backlash from the fans ended their careers as the Dixie Chicks.

Yeah! F him and his first amendment rights.

You're quite confused. I don't believe anyone advocated the removal of his 1st amendment rights. Most people have an issue with him introducing his politics into a traditional moment of respect for those who made his 1st amendment rights possible. We all realize that spoiled brat American celebrities will continue to express half-formed opinions as surely as the sun will rise.

The problem is that he's using his employer's stage to do this. He's not writing an opinion piece in the NY times. He isn't staging a hunger strike to call attention to a cause. He's not even writing a FB post. Instead he's using a moment that exists only because other people set it up. If I went to the Woodward Dream cruise and was asked to talk about the Hellcat for my employer but first delivered a political sermon, would it be fair to have that affect my career? But what about my free speech!?

My right would still exist at the end of the day. But my actions have consequences because OTHER PEOPLE also have free speech and the right to express themselves.

It's really kind of a puss move to do this... if he feels so strongly, what he should really do is resign and state he cannot associate himself with the NFL because they refuse to stop playing the anthem. If I really believed that carbon emmissions were destroying the planet, would you respect me if I kept collecting a paycheck from a company that builds the Hellcat? Isn't that blood money? What's the NFL doing to help racial issues? Doesn't look like they care if 99.9999% of the organization is still standing for the anthem. He needs to double-down and at the very least forgo his millions of dollars in salary. Stop enabling the NFL to collect billions, in some small part because of what he does. Now that he's expressed his belief, he's a punk sellout to remain in the league.

Yeah you would not want to criticize the president, especially one that put the transportation industry in complete chaos.

I couldn't find the quote, but today Tommy Lasorda rip him a new one. I really liked the prospective he gave. Someone with certainly quote him and I will add it to the thread later.

So when does F. Kap stand again for our National Anthem? What does he expect to be done to allow him to stand with pride? I mean what's his end point? He going to sit the rest of his career? Short as it may be.

Actually I've been quoted, photographed and had two op-ed pieces pulished on the national election within the past year. But I haven't done it using my employer's stage.
That would be between you and your employer my say means nothing in that regard and it should not. Just like this guy the thread started with spend no time thinking about his statements preferring to form my own opinion or no opinion at all. We all give opinions here, headers/no headers, wheels/no wheels, bias vs radials, and everyone is free to ignore any opinion just as you can with what's his name.
