Fuel Line

I have 5/16 brake line running from my fuel pump to my thunder series 650. Is that line too small for the carb being it came with a 3/8 barb for a 3/8 fuel line. Also I bought a fitting that you can screw the brake line fitting directly into the carb to eliminate the barb. Could that be the reason the carb is bogging out? I won't use rubber hose anywhere above the fuel pump that's why I used steel brake line.

You should probably have a short length of rubber - it helps eliminate the possibility of cracking the fuel line over time...
Th 5/16 factory line will feed it fine. With a decent fuel pump you can feed 450+hp with it easy. Besides - it's 5/16 all the way from the tank to the pump too.
