Hello all, I’m the green new owner or a pretty basic ‘71 2dr polara. I’m curious if there is anywhere or any recommendations on where to find rocker panels? It looks to be solid under the car but there is rust in the outer rocker skins. Is that something I’ll just have to have custom repaired? Looking for pointers. Also, headliner source along with seat/carpet? Thanks, looking forward to the adventure!

DL23G1D117447 looks good in GY4 with V1X black vinyl top. Congrats on getting this Polara Custom!

@71Polara383 has plenty of experience with those rocker panels. I’ll give him a heads up.

For interior fabrics, SMS has the correct materials. The one problem is that they often (not always, I’ve been lucky myself) take a long time to deliver.

For carpets, @Big_John can likely point you in the right direction. He is an expert.

I'm far from an expert....

The only game in town for molded carpet is ACC. IMHO, one of the better vendors for ACC carpet is Auto Carpet for Car, Truck, Van - Stock Interiors

I will give a couple suggestions... Don't cut anything until it's in the car and you've got it settled in place. I like to put the seats in before trimming the sides, but that's me. The other suggestion is when you need to cut a hole, like for the seat belt, dimmer, or seat bolts, use a soldering iron to pierce the holes. It gives the best hole and you won't have any threads to catch on bolts etc.

My heart longs for reading, Polara Dave's enthusiastic response for this car. Sigh...
