This is a real bummer. 70 440 block is chipped. I do want to keep the car numbers matching. We believe it can be fixed. Or hopefully we can run it like it is. Any thoughts?

 
That is the weakest area on 440 blocks. Seen it several times.
In all those cases, the block went to the junk yard.
 
I don't see it either dammit!

No photo, get only error message if try open it in new window etc.
 
Take a diegrinder to it and smooth it down and call it a day.

Agree. How long has this survived as is? I assume you're not building a high RPM race engine. If you're blessed, you'dd live long enough to see it cause a problem.

I wouldn't sweat it. That's probably been like that since day one. I would grind it smooth and clean the area up so it doesn't crack.

You could get the block magnafluxed if you really felt the need.
