I am converting my 62 Chrysler 300 Convertible, with a 413, to Pertronix Electronic Ignition.
Its their kit number 71381A.
Has anyone installed this in their Mopar? The instructions are not clear as to where to attach the Braided Bare Ground Wire.

I photo of your installation would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Charlie

The Pertronix I put in my 53 didn't have that ground wire.

Perhaps you could put a longer screw in the vacuum advance bracket so it poked through to the inside and then put a nut and lock washer on it.

I'll zap a pic of Mine. I ran he 3 for a while but had to switch to the 1 for my efi setup. The 3 ran great though.

I would call the III overkill for your application. I've read a lot on the forums about issues with the II and III. I have run the basic unit on my Imperial for close to 20K miles without an issue and wouldn't change it. I was running it on one of my other cars and changed over to Chrysler electronic ignition and actually regret making that change.

I also run a Pertronix I unit. I installed it almost 10 years ago and it has never missed a beat. In fact, until someone asks about them I forget it is in there. It is something I never have to worry about and I like that.

(Link is in German) Several YouTube videos on installing the Ignitor III system. It has many neat features, especially the multi-strike all the way up, rather than just to 3000rpm. Plus the rev limiter. A pretty nice item, it appears, but the base Ignitor I system is good, too. The "box" has power and ground wires itself Not sure why a "case ground" would be needed? There might be some better instructions on the Pertronix website. Let us know of your progress.
