Power steering cooler

Here is a pic of the power steering cooler on the '66 Imperial. Two questions for the group:

1) Was this standard on Imperial, or an option?

2) Is this the same cooler as what was on cop Mopars in the same time period?

I have a 64 880 wagon with the same cooler. It was a option on the wagon.

The cooler was standard with A/C cars,If the rubber line is old it should be replaced.It's 5/8" Universal power steering hose.I got mine at Napa .

My folk's '65 Newport 383 HP had one too. Only car I've ever seen with one.

There was one on my 65 Polara 500 convertible with AC

Seems like a good idea in warmer environments and/or where much turning and maneuvering can be expected. I wouldn't mind installing one for my 66 given the balmy weather we get in the Old Pueblo....
