Quick question/request about transmission tailhousing weight/damper

Does anyone have one of these tail housing vibration dampers bolted to thier transmission?

YES. It became standard or Torqueflites and it is, as you said, simply a vibration damper.
Sometime in the early-mid seventies. The exact year I don't know.
If you removed it, I doubt you would notice any change.
