This convertible is currently on Ebay:

    1958 Plymouth Belvedere | eBay

It really shows well and the seller claims it is without rust ever and has mostly original paint. The interior is redone, and not really original since it uses 1959 cloth material for the seats and has swivel seats that were not available until 1959 models. But it has power windows that were very rare in Plymouths especially.

No mention of the engine, a twin 4bbl 350 or 361? Anyway, beautiful car.

engine is probably a 361, it seems to large to be a 318. At any rate, it's a stunning car, don't think I have ever seen a Belvedere convertible from this era..... must be QUITE rare. The black/grey interior looks great with the yellow. It should fetch a big sum!

Very nice. It even has Plymouth floor mats.

I think the only thing that I'd change would be the top color to white.

I thought the swing out seats were first offered in 1959. The steering wheel appears to be from a 1957? nice canvas-cloth top, would not kick it out of the garage for leaking oil. Nice colors in 58, yellow looks good. One of my pet peeves, they painted the hood springs black, I had a 17K owner car and they were red in color, always thought that was cool.

If the motor is original it would be a 350. The 361 was not available in Plymouths until 59. The steering wheel is correct for a 58.

I believe the 1st year for the 361 is 1959

I wrote in the initial post that swivel seats were not introduced until 1959 and pointed out that this car's seats therefore were not original and that the cloth material on them appears to be from a 1959 Plymouth as well.

The 361 engine was introduced in 1958 and was used only in Dodge and Desoto models in that year. It was introduced in additional models in 1959. My 1958 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer has a 361 - 4 bbl. engine D500 in it and my Regal Lancer has a 350 - 4 bbl engine in it, which was standard in the Regal Lancer.

The 350 engine was used only in the Plymouth Fury in 1958 with dual 4 bbls. on it (a 318 V8 with dual 4 bbls on it was also available) and the 350 was not available in a Belvedere. Hence I do not believe the engine in the car being shown here is original.

The 350 with dual 4 barrel carbs was available in other Plymouth models besides the Fury in 1958. The standard motor in the 1958 Fury was the 290 HP 318 with dual carbs and in 1958 it was only available in the Fury. The 1957 Fury had the 290 HP 318 as standard but it was available in all models in 1957.
