Just pulled out a complete original 1968 440 engine from a wrecked Imperial with super low miles. Parked in garage for over 25 years. Block casting 2536430 date 4-20-67. Pad is stamped D 440 and 7 14 2. Exhaust is correct right 2532464 and left 2463107. Intake is correct 2806178 date 5-18-67. Holley carb is correct 3918 with date 242-7. Water pump is correct 2780987 but date is 1968, possible it's been switched. Heads are 906 with 6/67 and 4/67 dates. The distributor stumps me. Stamping is 2875362 date of 24 7. Is this correct? Hard to find dizzy numbers for 68. Big stamp 87 above dizzy number also. AC compressor is stamped 2002748. A metal Tag is stamped serial no 67210 and part 2865 91. Is this correct? Everything is painted correct turquoise. No VIN stamp. I believe it's an early build 68 engine. Does this seem right? Thanks for any help.

Thanks. My grandpa still owns his original 77 New Yorker with 29k orig miles on it. After driving it a few times I was hooked. Still has a bunch of large cars but the best ones are Mopar.

NOW you are talking Stan's language...

Have a 77 New Yorker for sale with super bee scoops for sale on Craigslist for cheap. Gramps painted it in 1984. Got cop shocks, cop 440 motor, cop 727 etc... Even a sure grip. Oh yeah, the lighter works too!

And post pictures of everything your looking to sell.. i'll get plenty of interest on here for sure..

Welcome to the forum from NYC..

First i thought it was a joke ........( was thinking about Stans old one with the black scoops )
But 5 min on CL and found the link....1977 White Lightning 440HP! CHRYSLER NEW YORKER BROUGHAM 440 HP 1of1

Looks like you weren't the first for the scoops? What did you think of the exhaust tips?
Let's get the facts straight.
When the New Yorker left my driveway, it was 100% bone stock appearing. No scoops. No emblems. No decals. No ugly wheels.
No exhaust tips. No tach. No NUTTIN. It looked factory stock.

When you sell your children, there's no predicting what their future caretakers will do to them.
Can't make them sign a contract.

Back to your original comments and questions, is it correct for what? If you pulled it out of the original car, and that car is wrecked, who cares what it's correct for? If it all works, use it in whatever you put it in.

Was wondering the same thing...
