Winter Plans For Your C Body

Now that the winter months are in full gear, what are your plans for upgrades to your car?

I plan on dyno matting the floor, and installing a new carpet. Also upgrading the brake system, and rebuilding the carb. I am sure that will lead to a few other things also, aways does. Lets here yours?

Starting to make a little progress with the engine transplant for the '66 convertible. The patient is ready:

The old 383 prepped for removal:

Had to get the car up in the air to attend to various fasteners underneath:

Got the hood off with a little help. This was a three man job:

Almost ready now. Stay tuned. . .

Is that the engine you picked up in the middle of Nowhere, PA? When you guys headed off into the Badlands following some hillbilly? And thought you were gonna be hearing banjo music?

Turned out that guy was a pretty darn nice guy wasn't he!
Glad you got it, and nice to see it going in Rip!
That's one of the best stories from Carlisle. You met a true mopar friend willing to help another out.
Hope you get it together in time for Carlisle!

Here's a couple of pics of my front seats from my 67' LeBaron. Sammie is going to take them to the upholstery shop this week to get them re-covered.

I spoke with him about these seats when I picked up the ones for my 77' Lotus. He was already explaining how the foam deteriorates and turns into a powder on these. I'm pretty sure they are in very good hands. We'll see in a couple months.

Yep, Kenny. That is the same engine. I'm hoping to get it all done for Carlisle, so I can take it up and show it off to that guy.

Thank yew vera much. . . BTW, are you gonna bring yer key cutter to Carlisle this year? In addition the the key blanks you gave me last year, I finally got a few more, and I'm hoping to get some duplicate keys made up. There is beer-coin involved. . .

Consider it done... If you get impatient... PM me and I can send you one.

Update: I should be picking up the seat by the Weekend.. the center piece with the embossed Brougham emblem is from the OE material, hence its discoloration.. he’s going to clean and brighten it up. He’s also going to show me how to clean the passenger and backseat to lighten their color as well. 42 yrs of dingy. Shout out and many thanks to Jeff, (cantflip) for the headrest as part of his last year‘s New Yorker scavenger hunt found me this one. It was Red and was dyed to match.

Pretty awesome set up provided you have the right cam & converter. Why don’t you have headers when using that intake?
Yep, Mopar Performance "purple shaft" spec cam....no headers, I have a set of HP exhaust manifolds that will be going on next.
