5th Annual C Body Show

Anybody up for comparing the length of their dipstick next weekend? :wideyed:

No I really mean dipstick. My ‘68 383 2bbl has an extra mark between add and full. When you change oil and add in the proper amount it is always to the middle stamped line. If you add oil to the full mark, at the end of a long trip it goes down to that line and stays. It will never go below that between oil changes. At some time in its life dad must have replaced the dipstick with another and re-marked the full line. I would like to check other examples. Maybe my dipstick is longer than everyone else’s.

I'd bring mine but TSA might confiscate it....might be considered a weapon :wideyed:

This morning I spoke with IRM to give them my weekly update on the number of people/cars that have registered for the show.
During the conversation, I learned the IRM Diner has reopened. They haven't been able to open the diner until recently due to the difficulty finding the staff to work, but that has been resolved now, and it'll be open this Saturday.
Once you arrive and find a place to park your C Body on the field, stop over at the registration pop up tent with the people you had registered with so that your name and guests can be checked off my registration list. I'll give you a window card to complete for your vehicle. In addition, a Special Events Meal Ticket will be given to each person/guest who were counted for via your registration for this event.
A meal coupon will be handed to each person/guest at that time. The food coupon will be collected by one of the food servers at the IRM Diner when you go for your free meal.

Attached is a map for the IRM grounds, showing where to enter at Gate 5, and a dotted route to the "X" where we will be.
A Google map link to help find your route.

Looking forward to having a good turn out this year and that everyone has a good time.

Took the Cicada up to the Twin Cities to a doctor's appointment, I'll put 250-300 miles on today, to make sure she's all ready to go. (She is, I just like driving her)

Leg one down. 222 miles. Spend tomorrow here looking around. And do 6.5 hours or so on Friday’s drive.

Hey everyone. There’s been a sight change in plans with the designated parking area for Saturday.

Due to the number of vehicles that have registered for the C Body show, the IRM management have chosen to move our parking area to the grassy field, which was originally intended for the overflow parking for the show.

It’s right next to the space that was initially chosen, but with the number of cars now up to 48, the space right behind the depot wasn’t going to accommodate the event by keeping us all parked together. The new space is not bad, and we are still in walking distance to everything and even closer to the diner. Our cars will be parked on grass, with several trees for anyone seeking shade.

In addition, we have new instructions when entering the museum grounds too. (See new attached map)

1) When arriving on Olson Road, we are to enter at Gate 2 of the general parking area

2) From there you will drive directly straight towards the large “Sante Fe” sign through the paved parking area, and enter the museum ground with your C Body through Gate B.

This is where the IRM Staff Member will collect your $20 fee. (Bring cash, as there won’t be an ATM at the entrance to the museum at Gate B) Their staff member will be at Gate B, but will not let you drive into the grounds until 9:00am

3) After entering the museum grounds, turn left to the show field

Drive safe. :steering: See you at the show.
