Yes and No.....They are hard to budge on somethings. So are you allowed to buy any parts?
Actually theres tons of useable stuff, very few cars are picked over because of the secrecy that goes with this place, these cars have all been here 25-40 years. I pulled parts today and everything came apart like butter. Most cars have good glass, trim, interiors, suspension, brakes, rear ends, engines, tranny's, its the body's that are gone and from what I understand thats how 90% of them got here. That s tragic like a wreck you cant stop looking at... I love those places... start thinking that's a cool car, wow that hood looks useable, I wonder if this ran or got dragged here? Then reality... worst way you could ever store a car... vandals breaking glass for fun makes it even worse pretty soon there is nothing really savable on the car. That truly is a cemetery, very little looks like it will be useable but the tragedy is captivating.
They farmed and still own a trucking operation, there father started just keeping his old cars, then neighbors and family/friends started giving him their old cars, the brothers just sort of followed in their dads foot steps but because of their trucking company sort of expanded. Slowly area guys bugged them to come in and buy parts, they allowed it for quite awhile until people got greedy and began to steal and destroy things......The brothers closed the little side business down, it became a hobby after that, currently they collect and restore vintage farm tractors. Was that ever a commercial yard, or was it a farmer's private collection? It seems the stuff was gold to the old farmers who put there old discards in a back field and mowed around them... until the farmer quit keeping them cleared and the plant life took hold. I never really understood why, but you very seldom can buy anything from them.
