Just Brought- 1965 300L 4 Speed

Wow, what a find.

My late father-in-law had a 62 with mirrors on the fenders and he loved them. He said he could see both in his peripheral vision so nothing could hide in a blind spot. He also liked the fact that they kept their settings, particularly on rough roads or when passengers slammed their door. The passenger door mirror on my Fury is totally useless in that respect.

After selling my 66 300 to a fellow member of C bodies, I picked up the car that was the reason for selling the 66. It's been sitting in a heated garage for 36 years. She has 55,000 original miles with all original paint and interior. When the original owner brought it new he traded in a 62 300H, He had the dealer install dual quads, dual mirrors on the fenders (which I took off) and dual antennas in the rear. He had that all done before he took delivery of it. Now the fun begins to get her ready for the road again. View attachment 72007 View attachment 72008 View attachment 72009 View attachment 72010

One choke one throttle. It looks like they were put on latter in the cars life. They are pretty crude.

I'm going to get started on her in the next couple of days. I'm having a battle with a hell of a head cold and I'm not winning. Since it's sat for 36 years I'm going to start at the front bumper and go through everything mechanical back to the back bumper. It does run but hasn't been run much. I really wish that they didn't get it running only because I don't know how the went about getting it running. I do know that when we first stated to try and get the car is when they got it running and drove it back into the garage. That was 2013. I did have it running the other day but once it starts to warm up it wants to shut off. I stopped at that and will have to rebuild the carbs and give it a tune up.

Absolutely, would have been nice to drag her out and starting her for the first time in 36 years yourself.

I would suspect a fuel cell full of ugly brown very smelly jello that will drive you nutz if you do not boil out the tank and clean the whole fuel system
If you look at the pics, the car was run on fresh gas remotely in a jerry can.
Anybody who has revived a car from long term storage has taken care of the fuel system.

Betcha not. Been there done that. I swapped the tank and draw tube the last time and flushed the line changed the filter AND draw tube filter and made it from Homosassa Springz to Tallahasse before it left me sitting on I-10. Swapped the filter 3 more timez by the time I got to Pensacola and bought 3 more that I didn't need the rest of the way to Austin. If the whole system waz clean why would the Jerry can even be needed? Jer
