Wow ….…….:thankyou:
yeah, can you believe that? actually, i recognize his ebay ID as someone who is an expert and collector of old gas and advertising signs among other things, but that's all i can remember. Maybe i missed it, but any guesses on what he paid for 'em? I'm sure mum is the word....

Well , the seller of the 2 birds knows what he payed for the first one so ……..i think he payed a good honest price….guess……...150-200.000 for the both.

Barn find huh. More like polished and well known among collectors. I'd love to have that U code engine for my 300 vert. Same color combo and it would be date correct.

For real. That "barn" looks to be better insulated than my living room.

Word around here is that the price for the pair was just under 140k
And the barn find / locked away from public eyes narrative is a bit embellished. Here is the white bird at a local dealership all Mopar show in 2017 -with contemporary antique auto registration plates.... You have to be pretty arrogant to put out a narrative that can be easily refuted when folks can whip out cell phone pics to the contrary!

I've heard the same thing from a friend that has known the cars for a long time. Personal inspection would be highly recommended.

I'm not knocking the cars at all - they are amazing - I just hate "fake news" LOL The cars can sell themselves without the pop culture narrative . It seems that every automobile television show tries to make an important and desirable attribute - out of a neglected collector car found "hidden away for decades " I find more value in a car that has been meticulously cared for for the last 40 some years!

$140k would probably have been a fair price for both of them assuming they are solid drivers as they are. Long term storage takes its toll. Neither is a 6BBl car, so I doubt that either would bring the $131k asking price, but who knows anymore. Notice that there are no bids to date.

I'm in love...................
With 6 days left and 36 bidders at $151K, what will this thing cross the finish line at?
I am thinking 1970 SFGTs should be worth more than they are, especially in blue, and also very rare?

That b.s. story is kinda funny actually. When does some guys two car garage in the suburbs, all of a sudden become a barn?
That blue one had a couple years of dust on it max.
For cars that don't run, they sure get around. On the lawn, driveway, on the four post. All positioned like a car show. LOL
The tractor is a nice touch. I don't know about you but I wouldn't be dragging those around by a chain with that nose cone!
Sorry, but I must raise the:bs_flag:

They are great looking cars, but why all the nonsense?

Looks like the cars have a P. R. Agent spewing out news releases to every media outlet possible. Let's crank up that hype, boys and shoot those prices over the moon.

I'm surprised the cars haven't been lined up at one of B-J or Mecum auctions as often as those auctions are these days with the drunken idiots that have more money than sense bidding on these cars.

I have heard from a person who has intimate knowledge of the cars and deal - that the eBay auction hype is just that -hype to get the cars "stories" out for public consumption.... The cars are not likely to meet reserve, or an actual sale- and the true goal is to ride the hype all the way to B/J

Not a fan of wing cars or their "day one" manufactured "collector" status. Let the wealthy launder their money with this kind of crap. Fortunately, investors haven't yet discovered most of the undervalued C bodies, although the asking price of a nice 300 Hurst in in the stupid range, so one never knows.
