Thought you guys might like to check out the new exhaust system on my Fury. All custom bent 2.5" pipe with an H-pipe installed. Borla mufflers and resonators. Amazing how much better the car runs with the original factory engine...it just seems to breathe better. I originally went with just the Borla's but there was a lot of drone at 1600 rpm. My buddies said it sounded good but it was annoying to me. The resonators helped remove the drone and lowered the exhaust note a bit.

Likely you have to upload to a 3rd party host and link it. However, there is a filmstrip icon... I've never tried it. @Joeychgo can answer that.

Looks good though!!
Thanks! it sounds awesome....nice deep rumble but not intrusive. It really has a wide open exhaust now as neither the Borla's nor the resonators have any baffling.

Rear resonators to change the resonant frequencies of the system.

Looks great under there!

Resonators do help cut down the drone depending on the length of the resonators.
The longer the quieter.
I personally would have went with longer resonators. But again my personal taste not yours
Heck even some factory 440 cars had resonators (on single exhausts anyways).

At my shop we use Cherry bombs or Purple Horny's as resonators. Cheap and works very well with any muffler you run.

It's hard to beat the sound of a Borla. My 1st choice for a performance muffler.

The resonance issue is more prominent in a convertible. I have used "hemi" mufflers on my last two verts which eliminated the need for resonators.

Yep, I looove the sound of Borlas. Had one on my F150 for 20 years now and still looks like new.

Can anyone get more specific on what resonator works well. Part#, length, etc. My H pipe took care of noise above 40 but below its not great. I have 3" pipes and flowmaster 40s which came with the car years ago but probably would not be my choice now. I have the room between gas tank and frame rails, just reluctant to start cutting without some personal experience from those that have done it.

FlowMaster has different series of mufflers. You have 40's. Move up to a higher series.

You can change the mufflers to a 44 series if you want.
But any 3 inch exhaust will be noisy in general.
Cheap and easy way to reduce drone is add long skinny Cherry Bombs or Purple Hornies to the tailpipes behind the tips or turn-downs.
The longer the better the drone is reduced.
I can get part # 's later.
Are your tailpipes 3 inch?? Let me know
