Does a 1968 Imperial steering column fit a 1967 Polara?

I am looking to upgrade to a tilt. They are both column shift. My Polara is a 383 automatic.

The Imperial column mounts up differently
All 68 columns are of the collapsible type unlike older columns.
 
Keep looking.
1967 Fury,Polara,Monaco,Newport,NewYorker tilt/tele interchanges.
1966 tilt/tele column totally different animal.
 
The '67 C-body columns were collapsible, the first year. BUT they had steering wheel shake problems that the '66 non-collapsible columns didn't have. 1968 was a different design that didn't have that issue. Per the old-line Chrysler service manager at the local Chrysler store, back then.

On some rougher road surfaces, the steering wheel in my '67 Newport does shake, while our '66 Newport did not and neither would my '70 Monaco, either. Seemed like a sympathetic resonance issue of sorts.

Interesting. My 67 Polara does have a steering wheel shake issue at times. I just had new tires mounted and balanced and thought perhaps there was a balance problem, but it is inconsistent. I haven't driven the car enough yet to notice any pattern.
 
My suspicion is that it's a harmonic issue on the '67 Chryslers, as the '66s seemed to have much more support from the instrument panel outward than the '67s do. Not dangerous or anything, just something the '66s didn't do.

Bought a tilt column off of ebay a few years ago for parts. It didn't have the rubber coupler my 66 had. Connected directly to the coupler at the steering gear. Was a collapsible version. Maybe that is why it vibrates.
 
My 68 steering wheel vibrates pretty well at highway speeds
