68 Newport with twist

Started filling and smoothing inner fender by eliminating battery box mount and strap holes. Hammered out hollows and bumps.
The triangles at front of inners are fill panels I rolled years ago and you can see cardboard templates for filling in area just under hinge.

Wanted to make sure of fit on a few spots and get things right before final fitting of fenders. Not as much time to play on it with real life stuff interfering.

More fitting and fiddling. Panels cut to fill upper corners. Drvr side of bumper needs a twist up at outer corner so have to wrestle with that still

Mounted a rear lic plate holder and cut out area behind to allow access to hood release. Switched actuator around to pull straight down. Still have to extend rod but its doable now.
Ss plate I bent up and attached to frame cause frame felt floppy when holding it open

One other detail is the side markers at front. Originals were in bumper and I wanted them to match the rear like some other models. Found original lights that fit properly and match rear

Some progress.....but have to admit the date on last post shocked me. All of May just gone.
Removed adapter plates for earlier heater box and filled them properly.
Pulled steering, wiper and other obstacles out of way.

At least you got some stuff done....I lost another month and have nothing to show for it but a bit older and closer to death....:wideyed::D Looking good as always!!

Heat and humidity and hothers kept me from progress for a few weeks but have a few free days to play. Stripped front suspension, paint thinner scrubbed it and got serious about prepping subframe.
Sanded underside of hood in prep for paint.

In spite of plugging sandblasters, humid weather and some miserable old por15, subframe is coated. Will do lower arms later. It's a semigloss black alkyd rust paint that's still wet and shiny.
