Thinking of installing seat belts in my New Yorker.

There are no pre drilled holes so wondering if anyone has done this using seat belts from a different year c body or went with new aftermarket seat belts. How do I know where to drill holes for the fasteners etc.

Thanks

There will be stampings in the floor pan by the trans tunnel for the front and rear seats. You need the special bolts and massive washered nuts to do it right. As well there should be nuts in the side rails under the carpet beside the front seat, but I'm not sure if they'll be there. If not you'll need to cut them out of a donor car and weld them in.

They are there as I had them in my '62. The pre-drilled and tapped holes should be plugged with a rubber plug. I cut the plug at one end and removed it. It had an image on it of the threads, and the plug itself was the correct diameter I needed to get the right size bolt. I took the plug to the parts store and bought what I needed.

Good luck!
