I think there are a few musicians here that may be able to help me establish a value on a 1974 Garcia acoustical guitar. Label shot shows all the info I have. Says grade no.2, Feb 1974.
I am not a guitar player. It's from an estate and shows very light use. It has a strong sound and resonates very well. There is one small knick on the bottom. (see pic), Otherwise very nice.
I'd like to sell but don't know where to start. Not much info on the internet.

Thanks
Will.

I, too, cannot find any info on the brand leading me to believe this is probably a budget minded entry level guitar imported under this brand name. Your best bet may be taking it to a guitar store, preferably a mom and pop but credible place, or Guitar Center et al to for more details.

So was it in fact made by Martin?

I have two friends on Facebook who know guitars. One sold them for years and still has close to 80. The other has been playing all his life and is quite knowledgeable.

The first: Michael Bybee. I've known him since Elementary School.

The second: George Fenley. He was my Music Minister at Aldersgate Church. Great guitar player!

Both are excellent musicians and can give you an idea of what they might be worth. If you look them up on FB, tell them Scott Allred suggested you do so.

I saw a guitar like this once in a bar. It was more than 40 years ago, but I still remember that it looked exactly like this. There was a painting on this guitar, though. It was a lake with beautiful lilies on it. A girl was playing it and singing Bang Bang Song. It was magnificent because the evening was beautiful and warm, and the bar was not crowded, so that I could hear her voice perfectly. I still remember that face and regret that I did not approach her. So, I think the guitar is not so expensive, something like $200. It did not look for more back then. You can look for more here: Choosing The Right Guitar Pick For You. They have a nice list of old guitars, and maybe it will help you in the future.
