Yeah well it hasn't grown on me as much as I had hoped, sooo....

It's going to be painted tomorrow, going with a classic white. It was either that or a dark blue.

BIG mistake.................!!!!!!!! It's a beautiful combo on her now, so rarely seen. WHY change to a common, mundane color. You'll destroy the character of the car.
JMHO.
Of course you know everything under the hood and in the trunk will need to be resprayed also......? Sounds like a losing proporsition

Just because it's rarely seen doesn't make it attractive, there's a reason they sold more white ones than baby blue ones lol.

Tough to believe. Must be wholesale prices. I went with medium priced materials when painting the Admiral last year, only painted the exterior and have about 1K in primer, paint, clear and misc supplies needed. All total I ended up with about 4K invested for a decent driver quality paint job.

I would've went with a darker blue or silver even but I definitely couldn't have kept a powder blue car.

It's all good, after 28 years in the military I've grown a pretty thick skin lol.

F-it... it's your car. So long as she comes out better than a Maaco job at $650... but you lost at least $50 in resale value, it's now $2450.

I don't think anyone was disrespectful. A color change on such a clean car will always get some controversy, and I didn't like that blue much either. I just would have distracted myself with 100 other things before I considered painting her, and then I would have been very torn about making the change.

I tend to agree with you about keeping the originality on original clean cars, I tend to agree with Stan about making a full change... but I see a small dollar quick change on this one might be practical... I would love to see this one in person once finished. Changing the white might make me love her a little more.
