Yeah well it hasn't grown on me as much as I had hoped, sooo....

It's going to be painted tomorrow, going with a classic white. It was either that or a dark blue.

BIG mistake.................!!!!!!!! It's a beautiful combo on her now, so rarely seen. WHY change to a common, mundane color. You'll destroy the character of the car.
JMHO.
Of course you know everything under the hood and in the trunk will need to be resprayed also......? Sounds like a losing proporsition

Just because it's rarely seen doesn't make it attractive, there's a reason they sold more white ones than baby blue ones lol.

Yes the underside of the hood and trunk are painted :)

cheers

I know crazy right? Well that's not what I charge my customers, but it's what I have invested in materials ;)

:bs_flag:Tough to believe. Must be wholesale prices. I went with medium priced materials when painting the Admiral last year, only painted the exterior and have about 1K in primer, paint, clear and misc supplies needed. All total I ended up with about 4K invested for a decent driver quality paint job.

I would've went with a darker blue or silver even but I definitely couldn't have kept a powder blue car.

Welcome aboard from Grimsby ON and nice to see another one getting some love. Are you around Napanee? My brother is in Brockville. BTW nothing wrong with white.

F-it... it's your car. So long as she comes out better than a Maaco job at $650... but you lost at least $50 in resale value, it's now $2450.

Sorry, I don't mean to be disrespectful. Just calling it as I see it.
I don't think anyone was disrespectful. A color change on such a clean car will always get some controversy, and I didn't like that blue much either. I just would have distracted myself with 100 other things before I considered painting her, and then I would have been very torn about making the change.

I tend to agree with you about keeping the originality on original clean cars, I tend to agree with Stan about making a full change... but I see a small dollar quick change on this one might be practical... I would love to see this one in person once finished. Changing the white might make me love her a little more.
