WHAT ? Another 61 Fury restroation......

I recognize the green and white '61 it belonged to a face book friend of mine but he passed away a couple of Years back due to cancer. I believe his step son has the car now his widow was going to sell it but I suggested she pass it down to a family member so the car will stay in the family

Another week of love for Virgil. Mark, the metal guru, made some serious progress on the quarter panels. After we figured out the right contours he basically recreated them from hand made patch panels. All butt welded and metal finished. Next week he goes back onto the rotisserie for some finish work on the bottom side and then sandblasting. Finish body work will follow that. It's been a lot of work and a long time coming, but I can see the light.

I decided to use the stub frame from the donor car. Being a dry SW Kansas car it was almost perfect, where as Virgil's stub and control arms were fairly well rust pitted.
Stub frame, control arms, backing plates from the donor car were stripped and refinished with rustoleum semi gloss farm implement black. All new upper & lower ball joints and upper control arm bushings. I'll finish reassembly in the next couple weeks.
Next the engine/trans will be detailed. The completed stub frame will be ready to bolt back in once the under body is finished

So you’re not coming north this year?

All the summer blues festivals I was looking forward to attending were canceled. I decided to stay put and dedicate some time to Virgil. Perhaps later but I have no plans to come up north as of now.
I was looking forward to spending some time with you and Jeannie, two of my favorite folks. :)
