440 timing chain

They did? When and under what circumstances?
 
Ive got a 77 440 in my 67 polara and im tearing down to do a cam swap and its got a chrysler double roller set in it. At first i was like **** someone been in here before but then seen the symbol and was like wtf lol

They were 3 bolt cams IIRC
The 69 A12 was, but I can't speak for the later versions. I've heard both for the later versions.

I also suspect, although I have no proof, that the double roller was used in some industrial and truck engines.
 
I had to look it up... In my 70 parts manual, the 440 six pack engine used the same chain and sprockets as the Hemi with 3 bolts.
 
Mopar performance chains, I think the one in my Challenger has a pentastar on it. It was a left over that I bought as a package basket case engine. It only had one keyway so I degreed it it came out close in it went. This was parts from the 80s if I had to guess, I bought the basket case around 1990.

My never been apart Winnebago 440 had a double roller and single bolt.
It also had the RV-only "peanut plug" heads.
