Just finished driving the NYB from Maryland to Indiana (just east of Chicago). My brother flew in from Milwaukee and he was a great co-pilot on the road! I had a problem with the hood release cable not working to do a final check. I'm pretty particular about performing PMCS (Preventative Maintenance Checks & Service) and it drove me nuts not being able to open the hood. Formal's have so many guards, splash shields , and other junk so you can't just reach up under the car and manually release the hood. Looking through the grill I could see that the sleeve slipped out of the latch assembly. Mike (NEWP) had the hood popped in less than 30 seconds.... unbelievably fast. Popped the sleeve back in place and hood release works perfect. That's all to report for today. I have my tablet and no way to load pictures until I get home.

If still in Wisconsin yet...two great car shows for Sunday: Jefferson WI. and Green Lake WI. Jefferson has approx 1000 plus swap vendors but starts to clear out by noon. Green Lake is where Capone used to stop on his way north. That car show has approx 500 plus there and alot of nicer cars from the WWII era and newer plus ALOT of other attractions going on. I have been to both but really like the Green Lake show. Maybe you will read this too lake or it will not work for your plan but you make the choice, either way Good Luck,

A road trip sounds like fun, great weather in the region for it, that's for sure! Say hi to Mike for us. Tell him to not be such a stranger.

Thanks. I'll still be south (bears vs packers at Soldier Field). Going to Milwaukee on Monday and then to GB.

I don't like the way the NYB is running. I'll have to stop at APP and get some plugs. I have a cap, rotor, and new Mopar wires in the trunk. I might have to make my first carb adjustment ever on the Eddie.

We started our road trip on Friday and headed south to Budd's Creek, Maryland to see the Pro Mod's racing. A lot of cars in the 5 second range. Track record was broken with a 5.81 pass Friday night. My friend Fredy Scribe won the race.

5.81 ET on 1/4 mile runs... none of this 1/8 mile wimp racing.

Some classes of cars (outlaw 10.5 et al) get very unstable racing more than 1/8 mile and crash a lot. I can understand that... very expensive (crashes) and I wouldn't want to see anyone die.

The tune up made a hell of a difference. I put in a set of Autolite AP85 platinum plugs. New cap and rotor. I left a new set of Mopar wires on my kitchen table. Oh well, I'll put them on when I get home.Timing was at 14 degree's and backed her down to 9 degree's. She's a lot happier at 9. My timing chain and gears are original and probably stretched a bit. Another project coming up... and maybe a Mopar perform an .484 cam. LOL!

The Eddie carb needed a minor fuel/air adjustment and that was it. Very happy with the carb.

Maybe it's just me....I was driving at 75 mph and getting 10 mpg and driving 65 mph and getting 15 mpg. I'm usually pretty good at math... most of the time.

Well, I've made it back home with the NYB after a 3,100 mile road trip to Indiana and then to Green Bay and then back to Maryland. I have some pictures and lost a bunch of pictures and here is what I have....

Here's few pictures in Indiana with Mike (Newp) with his 78 Spanish Gold rust free Newport. Very stout 400 with 71 pistons which raised the compression to about 10 to 1. Also has a Mopar Performance cam, Eddie carb, and dual exhaust with Flowmasters.
